I worked with Moe at Oscar many years ago, but we kept in touch every once in a while. He was a true professional and a pleasure to work with. I enjoyed catching up from time to time over the years. He was always helpful in business and a friend. We will keep him in our thoughts. He will be missed.
From John and Denise Allis   7/31/2010 7:45:13 AM

I just learned about Mo's unfortunate passing. Mo helped out the film production of Impulse tremendously while we were in Perry this last November. Not only was he a big help, but we also learned he was an amazing person as well. Though the schedule was incredibly packed, several times throughout the week we would find some time to hang out with Mo and talk about everything from cartoons to traveling the world. In fact, when reminiscing about the production, Mo's name would almost always come up. I had hoped to come visit him and was crushed to hear that he had passed away. If how he treated us during our short time in Perry was any indication of how he treated his friends and family, then you are all incredibly fortunate to have had a man like that in your lives. We will miss you, Mo, but we will surely not forget you. Thank you for everything.
From Travis Shepherd, Quad-Cities Bluebox Limited Films   4/11/2010 2:43:32 AM

Hi all, This is what I have written 3 times, the first time was Saturdan morning at 10:59am. I am so sorry I am not there with all of you now but could not change things this am. I have been talking to Moe all morning so he knows I am with him in spirit. We will all miss him so much and the way he could light up people just by saying HELLO!!! Mary and kids come and see us anytime you all know where we live. Trust in God he will make things better in time.
From Liz Lingner   3/14/2010 10:15:09 AM

From Michele Gioffredo   3/12/2010 9:06:57 AM

My deepenst sympathy to the Moe Michealsen Family. Moe fought a tough battle these last 16 months. Beyond comprehension and never did he give up. I was fortunate enough to work with Moe for 8 years with Bettcher Ind and was also lucky enough to meet Moe's children all four very good children when I last saw you about 16 years ago. You all meant everything to your father he was so very proud of you all. Your father has left fond memories in the hearts of the many people he met in 55 short years. All the best and may God be with all of you always.
From Pat Feeney Cryovac    3/12/2010 8:13:19 AM

I had the opportunity to work with Moe for the past 12 years. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was amazed at the impact he had on our customers and other people we met. I will surely miss him. Thoughts and prayers will be with Mark, Katie, Matt, and Megan from myself and my wife, Jane. Stay strong, guys! God sent us Moe (and the rest of us) and Angel 2 years ago, one who was to prepare Moe and in some ways, prepare some of us also. Mary, you are truly the shining star and while I have lost one friend, I have gained another. You be strong as well. Scott Gregory - Bettcher Industries
From Scott Gregory   3/12/2010 7:52:37 AM

My deepest sympathy to Moe's family. This world has lost a good, unique man. Customers I call on to this day, still ask about Moe. This is amazing, since he has not been to these accounts in many, many years. This shows the impact Moe had on other people. He touched people in a unique, never to forget way. I will miss him, as will many others. God bless all of Moe's family and friends.
From Terry Blaine and family   3/11/2010 10:22:10 PM

The world is a much sadder place without Moe. I am quite sure I will never know another human who was as orginal, unique and as down to earth as Moe was and I think all would agree to that. And to each of you, my most sincere thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time. I hope you take comfort knowing your Dad touched all who knew him.
From Howard Saul   3/11/2010 8:51:25 PM

From Kelly Wadding   3/11/2010 3:15:08 PM

Sincere sympathy to Morris' family at their time of loss. To further emphasize how unforgettable Morris was, I knew Morris from 4TH GRADE in Cumberland, IA! His name leaped out at me from the DM Register website. A fellow classmate and I did some reminiscing about that time of our lives, and we had some laughs via e-mail. He was certainly a funny guy with a bright mind, talented at painting assembled bird and/or car models. His detailed description of a hilarious plan of playing a trick on our teacher who wore a wig is still vivid in my mind (and sounds like something our son would have come up with during his school days). So cherish your good memories of your dad, co-worker, friend; sounds like he would want all of you to grieve quickly but remember the great, fun person he was. God bless you all.
From Nina (Mattheis)    3/11/2010 11:18:40 AM

We are saddened to hear of Moe's passing, although we have not kept up with him lately, we will always have the Greatest Memories. From the time he came to our rural neighborhood and all the crazy times with the Odd Squad until he left for the City (Perry) He missed his real calling- Saturday Night Live. Just to see him brought a smile and reminders of his antics at the Wayward Inn, and all the entertaining he provided us. God Bless his family.
From LaRayne and Danny Deardorff   3/10/2010 7:39:27 PM

I didn't get to see Moe alot, but when I was fortunate enough to run into him...what a pleasure he was! It's not often that you know someone who can make you smile just by hearing their name, but he was one of those people. I will never forget when my Mom died unexpectedly. I was sitting out on the deck having a "private moment" when this SUV came barreling down the highway, and then turned up our road. I had no idea who it could be. Lo and behold...out jumps this "mountain man" with the crazy bushy hair, cargo shorts and combat boots! He had driven non-stop from Sioux City when he heard the news. His giant hug is one I will never forget. He was a very special friend of our family and we are so lucky to have known him. Our thoughts and prayers to you all.

From Brian Porter - Gainco   3/10/2010 9:41:28 AM

Family and Friends, Moe will be greatly missed. Working at Bettcher Industries, I talked to Moe almost every day for 15 years. He had a magnificent humor about him.–Moe was a little rowdy on the outside ---but a kind, gentle spirit on the inside. I remember how his gentleness would shine through whenever he would talk about his children and his mother. This world will not be the same without him. Remember that your loss is shared by many friends who truly care and that you're in our thoughts and in our prayers. I pray that God will console your broken hearts and comfort you in this time of grief and loss.

Hey kids, As you know your dad was one of a kind. He will definitely be missed. Our family was very fortunate the day we met him. He was always there to help out if needed especially when we needed a laugh. All we had to do was see what adventures he had been up to, whether it was climbing a ladder with the chain saw or chasing bats in our basement. Just always remember the fun times & great memories. Love to you all
