Obituary For Dixie Lee Daniels

Memorial services for Dixie Lee Daniels, 71, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Murdock Funeral home in Perry with burial in Violet Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Dixie Lee Keenan was born February 9, 1951 in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Daryl and Dorothy (Lester) Keenan and passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 10, 2022. A lifelong resident of Perry, Dixie attended Perry Community Schools and graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1969. She married Henry Kersey Sr. in 1969 and to that union was born Henry Jr. and Kimberlie Kaye. On June 28, 1980 Dixie was united in marriage to Lynn Douglas Daniels at First Presbyterian Church in Perry. To that union Courtney Michelle was born. Dixie was employed by Oscar Meyer in the office from 1980 until 1987. She attended DMACC and went to work for American Republic Insurance in the claims department for over twenty years. She finished her working life at Avadyne Health for five years before her health started to decline and she retired to be home with her family. Left to cherish Dixie’s memory is her husband Lynn Daniels, of Perry, IA; son, Henry Jr. (Toni) Kersey, of Angleton, TX; daughters, Kim (Mike) Meyers, of Perry, IA, Courtney Daniels, of Perry, IA; grandchildren, Keegan (Madison) Davis of Phoenix, AZ, Kaelan Davis and Afton Meyers of Perry, IA, Justin Kersey and MacKenzie Kersey of Angleton, TX; sister, Denell (Tim) Hansen of Neola, IA; sister-in-law, Jo Keenan of Des Moines, IA. In death she rejoins with her parents, her brother, Dana Keenan, grandson, Cody Kersey and many other extended family. Memorials in Dixie’s name will be directed to Raccoon River Pet Rescue or Every Step Hospice. They may be mailed or brought to Murdock Funeral Home.
