Geraldine M. Daniels, 90, Perry, Iowa

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Murdock Funeral Home for Geraldine (Kever) Daniels. Burial will follow the service at Violet Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Gerry passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Perry Lutheran Home at the age of ninety.

Geraldine Maxine Kever was born August 18, 1929 in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Ella (Menz) Kever. A life long resident of the Perry area, she attended school at Washington Township and graduated with the class of 1947. She married Paul Gene Daniels on September 8, 1949 in Perry, Iowa. Three weeks short of what would have been their seventieth wedding Anniversary. In their younger years they enjoyed square dancing with the Star Promenaders.

Geraldine worked for many years at the J.C. Penny Store in Perry, in the catalogue department, before her retirement. She loved spending time with her family and was fond of her flower garden. She was an avid bird watcher. Gerry has spent the past five years at the Perry Lutheran Home.

Survivors include her husband Paul of the Rowley Masonic Community in Perry; son, Lynn (Dixie) Daniels of Perry, IA; daughters, Nancy (Joe) Holland of Iowa City, IA, Lori (Randy) Naylor of Red Wing, MN; one brother Kenneth (Irena) Kever of Ames, IA; seven grandchildren, Kim Meyers, Courtney Daniels, Robyn Naylor, Chelsea Kutschied, Tyler Holland, Emily Holland, Clare Holland and six great-grandchildren. Preceding Geraldine in death were her parents and one sister LaVerna Harris.

Memorials in Geraldine’s name will be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. They may be mailed or brought to Murdock Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at murdockfuneralhome.net
