Obituary For Shari Kilmer

Shari Kilmer,71, of Lake Panorama

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at Faith Bible Church in Panora, Iowa. Burial will be in Dallas Township Cemetery near Dawson. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry. Shari passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at her home.

Sharon Kay Kilmer was born March 14, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of William C. and Mathea G. (Roberts) Lee. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, MN with the class of 1964. Shari married the love of her life Fred Kilmer on April 23, 1966 in Dawson, Iowa. She spent most of her life as a medical secretary. Her favorite job was working as a security secretary at the Woodward State Hospital School, before being transferred to the Quad Cities for Fred’s job.

Shari was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking big meals for family gatherings. She loved to travel, especially to Louisiana. She liked to watch crime mysteries on TV and enjoyed to read and study her bible. She had an office set up special for her reading, studying and TV watching. Shari was a devoted member of the Faith Bible Church and was a past deacon of the church.

Survivors include her husband Fred Kilmer of Lake Panorama, Iowa; two sons Richard (Angie) Kilmer of Bettendorf, IA, Chris (Val) Kilmer of Dawson, IA; two brothers Dave (Teddy) Lee of Arvada, CO, Steve Lee of Kersey, CO; two sisters Patsy (Dennis) Santella of Panora, IA, Barbara (Carl) Merryman of Farmington, IA; five grandchildren Jordan Hemenway, Ellie Hemenway, Jacob Hemenway, Ashley (Kary Haglan) Martin, Matthew Martin and one great grandson expected to arrive in March.

Memorials may be directed to the Faith Bible Church parking lot fund and the Timber Creek Charities.

    I am so sad with Shari's passing but am so grateful for the time we did have to get to know each other. She was such a caring, loving person I am so glad we did have the chance to get to know each other
