Obituary For Tina Louise Haglund

Services for Tina Haglund, 51, of Perry have been set for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the First Christian Church with burial at a later date at Violet Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Tina passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at her home. Tina Louise Sass was born on July 28, 1971, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, the daughter of William Francis and Theresa Louise (Kersey) Sass. She grew up and attended schools in Perry and graduated with the class of 1989 from Perry High School. Tina loved her family and was a very busy mom usually working two jobs and coaching soccer when the kids were growing up. She enjoyed cooking but all knew that her kitchen was her kitchen (my kitchen my rules!!!) She had a special liking for Iowa Hawkeye Sports, Gnomes, reading, bookkeeping, and working at the Elks Club. Tina married Gregory A. Haglund on July 15, 2017, at the First Christian Church in Perry. Tina and Greg loved to go camping, motorcycling, and spending time with friends. She was a devoted tractor rider with Greg when the farming needed attended to, and she didn’t like missing trips on the tow truck and went along whenever she could. Tina is survived by her husband, Greg Haglund of Perry, IA; mother, Theresa Sass of Perry, IA; two sons, Brandon Henry of Altoona, IA, Andrew Henry of Ankeny, IA; brothers, Josh Sass of Perry, IA, Matt (Kristen) Sass of Perry, IA; sisters Lori (Chad Matthaidess of Park View, IA, Samantha (Joe) Jarosz of Rancho Gordo, CA; mother-in-law Maureen (Verle) Haglund of Perry, IA; father-in-law David Hemphill of Austin, TX; grandmother-in-law, Mavis Struyk of Perry, IA; sister-in-law Mollie (Curtis) Clark of Yale, IA; brother-in-law Jeff Haglund of Perry, IA; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding Tina in death were grandparents; her father, William “Bill” Sass in 2004; two uncles and one aunt. Memorials and condolences for the family may be sent to Murdock Funeral Home.
