Obituary For Violet Margaret Clymer

Violet Margaret Clymer, 101, Perry, IA formerly of Woodward, IA

Memorial services will be held at 10:00a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Murdock Funeral Home, Perry, IA. Pastor Jeremy Winter will officiate. Burial will be in Woodward Cemetery, Woodward, IA. Violet passed away peacefully Friday, June 8, 2018 at Rowley Masonic Home.

Violet Margaret Nielsen was born December 15, 1916 in Estherville, IA the daughter of A. Walter and Anna (Petersen) Nielson of Jackson, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Union State Line Lutheran Church, Petersburg, MN. Violet attended Petersburg Consolidated School and graduated in 1935.

Violet married Ray Harold Clymer on June 2, 1938 in Estherville, IA. Three children were born to this union, Donnice, Lon and Vicky.

Violet worked for twenty seven years at Woodward State Hospital School as a Team Secretary. She enjoyed travel, fishing, golf, flower and vegetable gardening and most of all spending time with her family. Violet was an active member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Perry for many years. Preceding Violet in death were her parents, husband Ray on August 29, 2003 and her daughter Donnice (Clymer) Woods in 2003.

Left to survive Violets memory are her son Lon (Ronda) Clymer of Vero Beach, FL; daughter Vicky (David) Wheeler of Woodward, IA; eight grandchildren Craig Clymer, Curt Clymer, Nickie (Gus) Gastineau, Todd (Natalie) Woods, Tyler (Susan) Woods, Stacy Ann Woods, Matt (Jodi) Sturgeon, Missy (Rodney) Bice; fourteen great grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren; one brother Floyd Nielson of Wisconsin and one sister Alice Muir of Montana.

Memorials in Violet’s name will be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa and may be left at or sent to Murdock Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at murdockfuneralhome.net

    So sorry to hear of Violet's passing. I ate meals with her for a couple months last June, when I broke my hip. She was a wonderful lady with a sweet smile
